Interview with Jielin Dong, Phd. Co-author of The Rocky Road to Liberty
Dr. Jielin Dong is the Founder and President of Javvin Technologies, Inc, a technical publishing company. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Ph.D degree in Physics, she was came to the U.S. in 1982 after receiving her B.S. degree from Zhongshan University. Saving Our Legacy of Angel Island

During the 100th anniversary commemoration of the Immigration Station, AIISF President Buck Gee paid tribute to the founders of the Angel Island restoration and preservation effort, particularly Connie Young Yu and Christopher Chow, who were in the audience.. This article explains how the Immigration Station was saved from destruction.
Connie Young Yu is the vice-president of the Chinese Historical Society of America and a founding member of the Angel Island Immigration Station Historical Advisory Committee.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren keynotes South Bay celebration of Immigration Station’s 100th anniversary
On February 5, nearly 200 AIISF supporters gathered at the Hilton Santa Clara to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the U.S. Immigration Station at Angel Island State Park. Assemblymember Paul Fong introduced our special guest, Representative Zoe Lofgren, who is chair of the House subcommittee on Immigration. She spoke about the importance of remembering Angel Island as our nation considers comprehensive immigration policy reform. AIISF board member Gerrye Wong concluded the program with a rousing call to action which helped raise over $16,000 for our educational programs.

AIISF Celebrates 100th anniversary of Immigration Station
The Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF) marked the 100th anniversary of the opening of U.S. Immigration Station at Angel Island with a moving ceremony on January 21, 2010 that was highlighted by the naturalization of 100 new U.S. citizens from 44 countries.Read more: AIISF Celebrates 100th anniversary of Immigration Station
