Angel Island Immigration Station: Angel Island Immigration Station served as an immigrant processing station for decades in the early 20th century. However, unlike the reception given to European immigrants on the East Coast, many of the immigrants who traveled through here received a rough reception by the bureaucracy on the island. Immigrants who have visited Angel Island Immigration Station were Australians and New Zealanders, Canadians, Mexicans, Central and South Americans, Russians, and in particular, Asians. (read more…)
