Thank you for joining us for AIISF’s latest online exhibition. From “breaking bread” with friends and neighbors to providing a route to financial stability — food has played an important role in the stories of many immigrants from around the world. Food can also be a gateway to sharing and understanding our cultures and history. As you visit the various online exhibit rooms, we hope that this exhibit gives you a further glimpse into Angel Island Immigration Station’s history; a deeper appreciation for the culinary, cultural, and economic contributions of immigrants; and a larger appetite to connect — not only with the food and people who remind us of home but also those who might introduce us to new tastes and new perspectives.
